I am a Professor at the School of Political Science of the Diego Portales University (UDP) in Santiago de Chile and an Associate Researcher at the Centre for Social Conflict and Cohesion Studies (COES). My main area of research is comparative politics with a special focus on Europe and Latin America. I am particularly interested in showing that populist actors are posing legitimate questions about the current state of democracy, although their solutions are more controversial than helpful. I have been pursuing this research agenda on populism both independently as well as in collaboration with various colleagues.
