With populist forces gaining power in several countries for the first time in years, policymakers and citizens are more concerned than ever with populism’s consequences and how we should respond. In this conference, Team Populism explores the consequences of populism and how they are mitigated. Participants focus on different levels of analysis, including countries and the international system (democratic norms and institutions, economic and other policy outcomes, media behavior, and consequences for parties or party systems), as well as the level of individual citizens (social polarization and the psychology of populism). Participants will work towards the creation of an edited volume.

How to get to the IE Segovia Campus from Madrid Barajas Airport?

By Mobility Service providers (Uber, mytaxi, regular taxi etc.)

• Approximate cost: 100-200€
• Approximate duration: 1.5h

By Bus (Avanza) - If you arrive in T1, T2, or T3, it is more comfortable to take the bus.

• Approximate cost: 10-15€
• Approximate duration: 2.5h

1. Get to the Metro station in the Airport.
2. Purchase a public transport card (4.90€) from the machines. (The personnel there speak English and they can help you purchase the card.)
3. Take the pink metro line 8 to the Nuevos Ministerios direction.
4. Get off at Nuevos Ministerios, which is the last station on the line.
5. Take the gray metro line 6 - Anden 2.
6. Get off at Moncloa.
7. In Terminal 1, find Avanza bus company, which is the company that operates between Madrid and Segovia.
8. You have several options to buy your ticket:
   • Online: through their website (5.55€) Here. Make sure to pick SEGOVIA ESTACION as the destination.
   • From the machines that are near their office (approximately 4.50€).
   • From their office (approximately 4.50€).
   *If Possible, take the busses labeles "Directo" - these are about 20 minutes faster.
9. Go upstairs and find the "Segovia waiting line"
10. Take the bus and get off at the last stop in Segovia. It should take more or less an hour.
11. From Segovia bus station, you can either:
    • Take a taxi (5€) which takes 5-10 minutes. Or
    • Walk, which takes 20 minutes.

By Train (Renfe) - If you arrive in Terminal 4 it is more comfortable to take the train.

• Approximate cost: 21-36€
• Approximate duration: 1.5-2h

1. If you arrive in:
   Terminals 1, 2, or 3
   • • Got to the Metro station in the Airport.
     • Purchase a public transport card (4.90€) from the machines. (The personnel there speak English and they can help you purchase the card.)
     • Take the pink metro line 8 to the Nuevos Ministerios direction.
     • Get off at Nuevos Ministerios, which is the last station on the line.
     • Take the dark blue metro line 10, to the Tres Olivos direction.
   • If you arrive in Terminal 4
     • Follow the signs to RENFE cercanias (local/commuter trains). The entrance to the train station is at the same level as the Metro.
     • Take the cercania train to Chamartin It takes roughly 20 minutes to arrive in Chamartin station. (2.60€)

2. Get off at the Chamartin station
3. Go to the Renfe train station -which is in the Chamartin station-
4. Get a ticket to Segovia Guiomar. Prices vary between 13.90€ - 24.40€. You can also purchase your ticket online through the following link: Buy Tickets Here
5. Get off at the Segovia Guiomar station. The train ride usually takes half an hour.
6. From the Guiomar station, you can either:
   • Get a taxi to IE University. It costs around 10€. Or
   • Take the bus line 11 AVE - Plaza de Artilleria and get off at the last station (Plaza de Artilleria / Acueducto).
     You will purchase the ticket on board (2€). From There, it takes 10 minutes to walk to campus.
